What is appropriate attire at a shooting range?

Whether you are shooting for practice or competition, you need to know what is appropriate attire for the shooting range. As a general rule, dress conservatively and comfortably for the temperature and range conditions during your session. Even if weather is not a considerable factor in your decision, you should wear clothing that allow you to move comfortably without distraction. Plenty of pockets are helpful for personal gear and accessories. We recommend wearing full-length pants if you intend to shoot in the prone position. You may wish to wear a concealed carry shirt if you intend to practice draws or a loose-fitting t-shirt with an Outside the Waist Band (OTB) holster on a belt. A good stance is essential for consistent best shots, which means that you need comfortable, supportive range shoes. Wear close-toed shoes for good structure and protection against hot brass that may fall to your feet.

A wide variety of training apparel is available, but please keep in mind that the following is required at all times:

  • Ear Protection
  • Eye Protection
  • Closed-toe shoes

May I bring my own ammunition?

If you wish to bring your own ammunition, it must be cleared by the Range Safety Officer on arrival.  Otherwise, ammunition for popular firearm calibers is available from our retail store.

How much does it cost to shoot ?

Range time is only available to Training Advantage Course participants. Personal Firearms Range Instruction is available at the cost of $45 per hour.  Firing Range Time for target practice is available at the cost of $25 per hour. The Range Safety Officer is required to supervise all range activities.

May I take pictures while I am at area ?

You may take photos of your personal activity, equipment and targets so long as it does NOT create a distraction for others at the range.
